A story of facing giants, self-discovery, and the desire to live out my life’s mission.
Deven is a person Who:
I currently have the immense priviledge of serving as an active-duty Army Infantry Officer.
In 2020, Deven was selected as one of the top 100 business students in America by the leading College ranking authority, Poets and Quants.
School has never come easily to me. I struggled my entire school career to figure out how to do well. In fact, I was a very mediocre student for most of high school. However, once I figured out how to develop a winner's mindset, I was able to set out and, despite much struggle and effort, be the Valedictorian of St. John's Business School
I began running Ultramarathons back in 2019. I have run 2x 50K (roughly 32 miles), 1x 105 miles, and have won an event called "Last person Standing run."
I became a Certified Professional Life and Leadership Coach through the Academy of Creative Coaching, which is a accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). My next step is earning my ICF credential!
I've been a motivational speaker ever since I was 15 years old making motivational videos in my backyard. I must admit, some of those videos make me cringe a bit, but still, that's when the HUNGER to speak life into the world developed. Now, I speak on both virtual and in-person stages and am trained and coached by the #1 Motivational Speaker of all time, Les Brown.
But In order to Get there...
I first had to overcome my Worst nightmares
Despite having some noteworthy accomplishments, my biggest feats were overcoming these 4 things:
Bullying
For 6 years, I feared leaving my house because of the bullies. Going to school everyday was a struggle characterized by fear and hatred.
Racism
Unfortunately, the color of my skin dictated how my peers treated me. Due to me being brown in complexion, I was called countess names, terrorized, and excluded.
Hopelessness
As a result of this, I lost all hope in life. I believed that I was exactly what everyone was saying about me, and as a result, I thought I was destined to a life of misery, mediocrity, and rejection.
Self-hate
I hated the person who stared back at me in the mirror. I hated my skin color, my appearance, and my circumstances. I allowed those around me to determine how I felt about myself!
My Mission
As You can tell, my life was hell. Each and every day was a struggle just to survive. Have you ever felt that way? I couldn’t stand looking at myself in the mirror, and I just hated life. Yet, I conquered it all through INVESTING IN MYSELF! Now, my mission in life is to enable other people to develop the internal tools required to overcome any adversity and live the life of their dreams!
